On a small, beachfront campus, Sandra Santos established Foresta Rincón. Even though Hurricane Maria caused physical devastation to Foresta, it failed to extinguish Sandra’s unwavering ambition of creating an educational institution where children could cultivate leadership skills and empathy through outdoor experiences. Fast forward to 2022, Foresta encountered another weather hurdle with Hurricane Fiona. At that moment, Sandra realized that she couldn’t tackle the challenges alone and sought the support and involvement of the Foresta community.
Since Foresta is now designated as a non-profit under 501(c)(3), the school is governed by a Board of Directors. Board Members serve for a period of three years. New members are elected in June. Currently our Board is as follows:
Jean-Paul LeDu – Board Chair
Julie Shore – Vice Chair
Tatiana Bessarabova – Secretary
Alma Martinez – Treasurer
